Remember this beauty?

Post by Bobzilla »

I used to drool at the thought of it. Some things just weren't meant to be.

I am simply amazed that none of the modders here have made their own.

I've only met one person who could play FPS games with a trackball. I don't think it'd be for me.

Track balls are nice, for there intended use. I have one that I use with my desktop that is great for most use and games were speed and accuracy isn't a high priority. A fps isn't really that good for trackballs (imo), as your thumb is generally not as fast as your whole arm, and you have to train yourself to get better with moving as most of us are accustom to how normal mice work. I'm not going to argue that the concept is cool, just that isn't not a method most gamers would use.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a commercial gamepad with trackball actually for retail sale. Google shopping/Froogle has gone stupid and thinks "Playstation 2" is the same thing as PS/2  so I can't find it for all the PC trackballs listed.

I just thought it looked wicked cool.. Never really cared if I could play on it or not.. As it stands, I can't play an FPS with a thumbstick.. a trackball? how much worse could it be?
