Psone portable problems

As the title says, controller seems to work (analog light works when you press the button),
but when pressing any other buttons nothing happens. Not in the main menu or ingame. Controller and the psone are wired together...
I don't want to buy another
I'll send photos later today when i get my camera back.
No components seem to be broken and the wires are ok.

that happened to two of my ps2 controllers, but i think the problem was when i put away the controller i would wrap the wires around it so i guess one of the connecting wires broke

Nope. i've removed the playstation controller port and wired the controller and the console together.

some testing done. it seems that psone mobo has some problems...
any idea?

-test the controller on another console
-test with another controller

then you'll definatley know if either has a problem
if these resources are not available them im afraid theres no easy troubleshooting solution

Does anyone know where the broblem could be on the psone mobo?
Playstation works fine, expect i can't control it.
better test with my second controller.

hmm...
I re-wired the controller and psone together and tried the other controller also, but it's still not working.
any ideas?
