No Volume Out of PSOne Screen

Post by Abbott »

I am not getting any volume out of the screen. The video works fine and I trust my connections, but I don't understand why it wouldn't work. I have been wondering about the three wires that are connected together on the screen that you can see in Harshboy's diagram (purple) but in others it is not there. Would this make a difference? Also, this is an extremely stupid question, but I have been assuming that the volume buttons are the right set on the screen with the triangle symbol, and I was thinking that maybe that is the contrast or something and the volume is actually somewhere else and turned down. Or could there be something wrong because I cut off the headphone jack and power cord board of the screen? What are some common mistakes made other than a bad connection from the n64 to the screen?

Volume buttons are the ones on the right. even though you think all of the connections are good, check again. Also, check to make sure that none of the cords are touching each other and creating a short. The bridged pins are needed. For what exactly? I don't know, but they are needed.

If you aren't going to include a headphone jack then you have to bridge those three pins (the purple ones) if you don't they system thinks that a pair of headphones are connected and it won't use the built in speakers.
