X360 Lappy WorkLog

Post by PhookYu »

So I've just got started and got the bottom half of the laptop almost done. I can't seem to find out which xbox 360 I have. I've done some research and the label is the xenon's but the power supply input is the falcons. Can anyone help me out?

Look for the amp draw listed by the manufacturing date.

16.5 - Xenon (release system)
16.5 - Zephyr (has HDMI)
14.2 - Opus (used for repairing RRoD Xenons)
14.2 - Falcon (has HDMI)
12.1 - Jasper

Thank you very much. I have the Zephyr.
I'll have picture up later of what I have so far.

You should try a replacement fan from online, a lot of places sell them, they run on the same power, they move more air, are quieter, and some of them have leds in them. Red, green, and blue colors. I don't know of anyone on this site that uses them but a friend of mine has one and it's a lot quieter.

Yeah I was planning on doing that. List of things I need now:
-LCD monitor
-fans
-60gb or 120gb harddrive
-Hinges(coming in the mail)
-cables for video and audio
-molex cables

Hopefully I get done before school is out.

Will I still be able to split a 15" monitor power board in half like a 17" monitor in Ben's laptops?

It really depends on the monitor. I don't believe all of them cut so cleanly in half.

If the monitor I get has 3 pins for the power and the xbox 360 power supply only has 2, would I have to get a different xbox 360 power supply?

How would the Xbox power supply only have two? I haven't opened one but I would think that there would be at least three-12V, 5V and Ground.

I have the same power supply, it has no ground pin. I believe mine is a falcon with hdmi.

Those two pins are neutral and hot coming from your wall.

ignore the ground. you don't need the third prong. just the two main ones.
