I am, for the most part ,following Harshboy's wiring diagram, but with a little change. This is what mine looks like:
Sorry, I am posting this at school on our mac computers and all we have is GIMP to edit images. The yellow and black squarish figures are my switches.
Recently, I had everything wired up but without the screen and it worked fine. it would power up, the switches would light up (they have LEDs), and the LED on the Nintendo would light up as well. I just got the screen in the mail and I hooked it up according to the diagram attached. Now when I turn the Nintendo (not the switch on the actual nintendo, the one I installed) switch on, the LED on the switch lights up, but the Nintendo's LED does not. Same goes for the screen's switch (again, the one I installed), the switch will come on but the screen doesn't flicker or anything showing it turned on. I don't smell anything when I turn them on, so I think I wired everything correctly, but I don't know why it won't work now! Is it that small change I made to the wiring diagram? Could it be my connection to the screen? I did not solder directly to the pins going into the screen, but rather to the wires that go into the connector that you plug into the screen. Why would my LEDs light up by my Nintendo or screen not turn on? Thanks!
If there is anything that is unclear or I am missing detail anywhere, please post and say so!

Re: N64 Won't power up anymore!
Out of curiousity, how many volts are you supplying to your screen?
Re: N64 Won't power up anymore!
If my battery was dead, wouldn't the LED's on the switches not light up?
I am using a 7.2v battery source. only 2000 mAhs though :\

Re: N64 Won't power up anymore!
What do you mean by the statement "the switch will come on?" How so? My understanding is that nothing turns on, not even an led, when the switch is flipped. Is there an led somewhere along the line on the screen or before that comes on (like the power board thingy on the Zenith screens)?
Re: N64 Won't power up anymore!
I meant the LED on the actual switch lights up, like this:
both of my switches look like this and they both light up when turned on, but the screen will not flicker and the Nintendo's LED wont turn on, as in this one:

Re: N64 Won't power up anymore!
That LED will run off any voltage. It is not a test of if your battery is charged.
