collage majoring :P

So i am a freshman and my guidance councilor wants me (and my fellow classmates) to think what collage i want to go to and what i want to major and minor in. I already know i want to major in circuitry and electronics and all that good stuff (plus im gonna minor in cerramics i love art) but i dont know what would be the right collage any good ones i should start aiming for ?
oh and what is there gpa standard, i have a 3.6

How do you have a 3.6 GPA without using proper spelling, syntax, or punctuation? Also, you can't go to a collage; you can however go to college and further your education.

One suggestion: Do well on both the ACT and SAT, colleges will practically pay you to attend their shool.

If you don't want to take the time to write properly, maybe we don't want to take the time to answer. Get into the habit of spelling correctly and using proper grammar, all it can do is make you not look like an idiot.

I would go into engineering in general. Then specialize after you get some experience and see what you like. Just because you like messing around with electronics doesn't mean you'll like taking classes about it or doing it as a job. I would also take the engineering classes your high school provides.
A good SAT/ACT score isn't all you need, a GPA to match is needed if you are going for a full ride scholarship. I got a 33 on the ACT, but only had a 3.1 GPA (ya, I was a slacker). I qualify for most of the partial scholarships, but my GPA pretty much kills my chances for a full ride.

No, you don't spell well. If you're going to mention that you have a GPA above 3.0 and ask for suggestions regarding education, act like you at least have a base knowledge of the English language; or you could get a GED, there's nothing wrong with that.

If you plan ahead in High School, you can usually enter college at/ almost at a Sophomore, which can put you ahead of the game by quite a bit, though engineering programs can be quite competitive academically.

+1 to that. I enjoy general electronics hobbying, but I tried electrical engineering and I didn't like it - turns out I like doing stuff rather than the theory. Go figure. I ended up finding out I really enjoy programming, so now I'm doing computer science. Since I started out as engineering, switching to computer science was pretty easy (I ended up switching to a different school with a better computer science program, for more reasons than one).

The advice I've been given many times is: go wherever fits your personality, and wherever is cheapest. After you get your first job, future employers primarily care about your experience and that you have a degree. The specific college matters more if you decide to get a masters/PhD.

My advice is to go somewhere that will give you options - don't go to a school that's primarily electrical engineering, in case you find you don't like it. I remember hearing a statistic saying about 50% of college students change their major before they graduate.

How are you in math? What have you taken already? Engineering is very math intensive, particularly academically. Definitely take college prep/advanced math classes all throughout your high school career, if you want to go into Electronics/Electrical Engineering. If you're only OK at math (having art interests tend to coincide with that), Electronics Technology, the more hands-on/less theory side may be a better choice if you can find a college offering it that you like.
