Of coarse the red and black wires are possitive and negative.

You need something to regulate to 3V-3.5V, because you need to have a 3.3V line.

One thing that I messed up on the layout is that you should really have the power switch on the negative line, instead of the possitive.

so i just follow the diagram, add the buttons, and make the case? kewl.
could i replace the power converter with a 7805 linear regulator?

what should the new diagram look like since i should have the power switch on the negative line?

It is exactly the same, just put the SPDT on the negative line.

BTW: By telling you to put it on the negative line is actually helping to keep your N64 from being fried, and helps prevent power loss. I have helped lots of people here, I'm not going to start messing with people now. You might want to learn something about electronics before doing any big projects...

actually i know a bit about electronix. ive just never done anything like this. i thought *o* was messing with me becuz before he said it'd be funny to see someone frying their N64 and i thougth he gave me false directions.
