Very new to modding. Can someone point in right direction?

Very new to modding. Can someone point in right direction?

Post by Fin9ers »

Yo guys/gals,

I'm relatively new to all of this. But after looking through some of the showcased mods..... WOW. Like..... oh my god. I still cant believe this is possible.

Anyways,
After looking through all the other projects i noticed there was something missing. A PS2 laptop

Ive managed to obtain a laptop from my brother. Pretty old and not worth using. So i've gutted it completely. Nothings left apart from LCD screen.
Ive also opened up a ps2 slim. And the motherboard fits pretty snug in the laptop housing.

Good so far...

Now here's the hitch... I know NOTHING of electrical wiring. Not sure where to start with hooking the lcd up to the ps2, getting power to the ps2 and lcd.

Im guessing i can just use copper wire soldered to each point on the mother board and on each point of the CD laser to be able to relocate the disk reader. ^^^ Please let me know if this is right ^^^

So yeh, there's my dilemma.

Any help would be very much appreciated

PS. i can upload some pics of all the parts if needed

A laptop screen won't work :|
Sorry.
As for the Disc drive you could make it tray loading.
For the screen you can use an external lcd monitor.
Tell me the screen size and the thickness and I'll try to find one that will work for you ps2 laptop.

i think the PSOne Screen can fit in that okay, but i might be wrong. at any rate, can you fit the power supply from the ps2 slim in or is it attached to the motherboard?

The ps1 screen is way too small for the laptop chassis.

Plus I'd prefer a much larger one.
So I'm trying to source a faulty portable DVD player from ebay to 'acquire' the screen. Or I'm going to buy a Joytech 8 Inch Slim Ps2 Screen:
