about 6 months ago I had the bright idea to take the ram out of two expansion packs, and solder the ram directly in place of the ram on the n64 motherboard. Everything seemed to be soldered in good, but the n64 refused to boot. I tried making the connections better, checking for solder bridges, and even washing the board in water. I still couldn't get it to boot. Today, I was going through my daily N64 withdrawal, when I decided to check the ram contacts one more time. I ran my soldering iron over each pin, tried it out, and it worked!
Now I just need to simulate the jumper pack. is there a picture somewhere around that shows how to do that?
