Keyboard Question

Post by ghosstt »

I'm thinking of a doing a new project. Installing LEDs into my keyboard to light it up from inside. (Underglow for the keys)I was thinking of doing it just for the main set of keys, so around 3 LEDs should work. But heres my question, can I just hook up 3 LEDs to say, the scroll lock LED, and it will work? Do you think the power there is enough to handle more than one, and still have it bright? Also, does anyone know the standard Voltage ratings for those LEDs? (I don't have a multimeter)

USB or PS/2?

USB can handle 5v at 500mA per device, so if you tap directly off the USB line you shouldn't run into any problems.

I've seen how-to's that use 2 little LED's that come up out of the keyboard (on bendy rods) that hook up through the scroll lock, so 3 shouldn't be much of a problem.
