GB screen?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

no. The picture processor talks to the screen directly, not through composite or RGB. If you know assembler language and have an extremely high proficiency with electronics, then you could make a decoder/encoder card, but the answer for the rest of us is no.

Look at http://www.doomportables.org/screens.php . They have a chart with all the screens and what systems they can be sucessfully used with.

But you'd need the entire GBA AND add-on AND NES/SNES/whatever board/chip in a portable. More weight and less battery life, right?

Another alternative is an automotive LCD screen (12V screen for in a car) and a custom sound circuit.
Warranty-Voiding fun!

Or hipgear/Intec screen pad. Just use the chart, it's easier.
