I would like to convert all my old 5 1/2" disks to disk images that I can use with an Atari 800XL emulator on my Mac. I still have my old 5 1/2" Atari disk drive, and I'm wondering if I can buy an adaptor so I can connect it to a USB port.
Years ago, I bought such an adaptor, but it was for some kind of archaic PC port that you could only find on really old PC's. I no longer have access to such a PC, and I was hoping that instead of trying to find an old PC, I could find an adaptor that could connect my old floppy drive to USB (along with some Mac software to make the images).
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Jeremy

Um........why don't you just download the games off the internet? It is not illegal to download games that you already own of the Atari.Explodey wrote:I would like to convert all my old 5 1/2" disks to disk images that I can use with an Atari 800XL emulator on my Mac. Does your Atari still work? (Do you even still have it?) You can probably use a serial cable to transfer the files if it does (though I'm not sure if they made Mac software to work with such a homemade solution).

The files on these disks would not be available anywhere else. They are files I made myself: programs written in Basic, and word processor files mostly.
Anyway, I found something that I think might be what I need. Has anyone used this:
