Controller help problem solver)

i want to know how to do this to my portable (as you know im a noob and i dont really have the time to keep looking it up and yes i did look it up but i cant find it so i thought i would ask you fine people )

I am making my own n64p now, but Im havent started on that part yet. You should study the circuit board just to try to understand how it works. What you will need is to get another controller, cut it like the L64p(in pic)
I made a pic for you, but don't do it like that until someone confirms/corrects it..

Yeah I think it will work, but it's a lot harder then if you had another official n64controller. there is small pins to solder on the side of each button and for those on the d-pad you need to just scrape a little bit of that black thing of.
!BUT i dont see that the left and right one has any, It would work if you take a little of the black stuff from the downside of the left and topside of the right button. Make a supernice and low solder on it. The ground for the d-pad is "c4" "c5" and the two top left pins. start button shares the same as the Z. and the c-buttons and A B looks like they use the top right pins.

its not very hard to test. if you just solder some wires between the controllers and remember to have both Gnd(black) and +(red) put the rubber pad on and test the buttons while playing a game. all before before "ripping" apart the controller..

Oh and also there is one on the left and right d pad the pic just does not have good quality

I would suggest getting some perf board from radio shack or wherever else you may find it and get some tact switches. Set the tact switches up on the perf board the way that you want them, then connect the leads of the tact switches to the correct buttons on the controller board. This way, you do not need to use two controllers

oh and geno when i am soldering the points do i just solder it right on to the button or do i solder it like in crapload's diagram?

you solder it to the points on the tact switch. tact switches usually have 4 prongs on them so you need to make sure you get the right positive one and the right negative one.
