Gameboy DMG Problem

Well I have this Gameboy DMG and when I put batteries in and a game, I flip the switch and a black screen pops up. I know the game works. Any ideas?

Screen is broken sorta.
hard to tell but it looks like it has vertical and horizontal lines.
I have fixed these a lot in the past month.
The lines are hard to fix but if you want I can get it working for $15
