Playstation 1 Error HELP!

Hey everybody,
I have this problem with my PS1 where whenever I try to play a game it says to insert a PlayStation CD-ROM. Any ideas why? Thanks

PSone or PS1 ?

If it's a PS1 , turn it upside down and try it and tell me if it works.

It works sometimes turned upside down and sometimes it freezes on a loading screen when I do get it to load. Yes it is a FAT PS1.

Worn out gear.

You will need a new cd-drive assembly from a different Ps1.

you can buy new cd drives. I got one from dr killgood, but I don't know who he got it from.
