Just a bit more voltage for PS2 Slim?

Post by josh41091 »

Hey Guys

Ive had a search through the forum and cant find a definate answer so here is the question:

I have this battery pack (http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/13804498/ ... oduct.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and was wondering if it can be used to power a PS2 Slim. I know the PS2 Slim works at a non-regulated draw of 8.5V but will the 9v that the battery pack supplies be alright and not overwork the ps2? Just makes life easy because it has a loads of tips, one of which fits the ps2.

Thanks Guys

Josh

the ps2 slim will work fine at 9 volts, but it really shouldn't be much higher than that

kk thanks very much mate. Just a quick afterquestion.... the battery pack I have has an output that says between 9-12V. Does it automatically regulate to 9v? Or is it dependent on the cable/tip you plug into it (it comes with 3 different size tips)

Cheers

i dont know man, ur gonna have to grab a digital multi-meter and test the output voltage yourself, and if its too high, then there are a variety of good regulators you can use to achieve a good 8.5 volt result.

heres one of them: http://cgi.ebay.ca/AX3022-Based-Switchi ... 1761286156" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
