its possible to salvage my PTH08080WAZ, a pin on the bottom popped out. the pin was the power out and im getting like .145 volts on it. is there anything i can do becides order a new 1?

sorry for double post;

im using my multimeter and the most voltage i get is on pins 3 and 4. i get 2.66 volts.

so is the unit ok? i

m not sure if the battery im using is fully charged. its a coby portable dvd player battery it says "polymer 7.4v 3000 mAh". will that bettery work? please help.

The pin should just be a connector, you can still solder to the hole.

As for the voltage it sounds like your resistor is too high. Lower it and see if you get closer to 3.3 volts, usually the ideal is between 1.7kohms and 2.4kohms, this is mostly an average. According to hailraizer the results can differ quite a bit.

Thank you for the help. I saw that thread somewhere around the forums and wondered if Thats the problem.

Well my 1st real solder of my project was a success in a way .
