Hello there guys! Haven't posted in a while, but now I'm super excited. I'm going to get my new truck soon! What I want to get is a Toyota Pickup from somewhere around 88-94. I plan on going to the Dunes and the Dessert sometime after I get it. I'm going to put it some upgrades too it with my own money, but my parents said they'd get me the truck. My dads best friend owns a tire and rim company, so I am automatically hooked up with tires and rims. I had a few questions to ask though.
1. I'm most certainly going to get it lifted. Heres an exact picture of what I want it to look like when I'm done doing upgrades. http://store.4wheelingplus.com/images/t ... bumper.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; However I am not sure how much it is lifted. That is exactly the size I want it to be and the tires and rims. So how many inches would you guys say that is?
2. Also I want to get that front bumper too with the bar that comes up on the grill and theres lights in the middle. But what the heck is it called?? I plan on putting that on too, but I don't even know what to search for.
Thanks guys for all your help. I'm sorry if I sound a little "too" excited, but its my only first car if you know what I mean

That bar is called a "brush guard" as it prevents branches and brush from taking out your headlights or grille.

1. I would guess 6". That is the usual max, and it looks about as high as my truck ('90 Jeep Comanche, 4x4, 4l straight 6, 5 speed, ~6" of lift). Any higher than that will probably cost a ton more and make it really unstable, while not providing much more capability. Make sure you do a suspension lift. They cost more than a body lift, but add a ton more capability.
2. It's a brush guard, as Black Six said. It is also an aftermarket bumper.
What kind of offroading do you plan on doing? You'll want to keep it in mind as you're buying and installing parts. That said, a desert racer will probably do a lot better on the rocks than a crawler trying to race across the desert. Remember, building up a truck to look like the one you linked to will cost several thousand dollars. It should be fairly decent offroad when stock. A decent set of tires can make a big difference, probably one of the best upgrades you can do. Make sure you check the truck for rust before you buy it. Surface rust is expected on a truck that old, but make sure it isn't too deep (pushing on it with your finger can tell you if it's rusted all the way through).
If you want, my truck is for sale.
Kinda far away, though...

brushguard is also called a nerf bar or bull bar. and liek the others said that is probably a 6 inch lift. a bumper like that will cost you (new) over a thousand dollars by itsself
