Hey
So when I was taking the X clamps off the motherboard, I sipped and knocked two little rectangle pieces off the back of the board. Does anyone know how to get these back on so it will work? I tried soldering it but the piece wouldn't stay. I was thinking maybe coating it in hot glue, or JB weld might work.

im going to go out on a limb and guess you are not in possesion of an SMT reflow station?
it depends on how much there is to solder to on the components. if theres legs,then you should be able to hook it up with wires, if not, try coating it in flux then soldering it.

The easiest way is to cover all the traces in solder, where there is like a solid line of solder leaving just enough of a view so you can position the chip back in place properly.
Then set the chip where it goes, melt the solder with your iron while pressing down the chip. Do this on both sides.
Once done Use de-soldering braid to clean up all the excess solder until each leg of the chip is soldered down to the board but not touching each other.
It is actually easier than it sounds.

oh, it is easy. maybe you should just use a heat gun or put the thing in an oven to get the solder to heat up.(it also helps to reflow the solder)
