If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.
I just got one of those really horrible quality gamecube screens (relax it was free ). I'm trying to use as much of it as I can, because I already have way too much junk lying around. I'm using the casing for an upcoming portable. What could I do with the screen besides throw it away? The whole screen assembly is about an inch thick, so I don't think I'd even bother putting it in an NES portable, and if I do any other portables, I'm probably going to use a nicer screen.
So, any ideas?

Be really cool to kook it to a Nes , put Duck Hunt on it. Then when the ducks come up, fire a real gun at the screen. Then fake a call to Nintendo complaining that the Gamecube screen is not working properly with your Duck Hunt game.

haha, so many good options. In order to open it I had to pull off the power / nintendo AV connector. Are there any good pics of how that goes on? I want to make it functional again before I do something with it. The board is nicely labeled with where the connections go, but I also had to pull of a capacitor connected with wires from somewhere.
edit: I got the screen working on my gamecube again. Although I left out that capacitor, and I left a black wire not connected to anything. There were 2 black wires, so I hooked one up to ground, and just left the other one alone.
