I just bought a GameShark Pro for N64 for $25.
What exactly can I do with it?

It seems like the games aren't starting up when they are in it though.
It displays the number 8 if that means anything.

Gameshark pro's are really touchy. Have you ever gotten a game to boot with it? If not, you might have a gameshark with corrupted firmware, In which case you'll need another working gameshark to uncorrupt it.

Cleaning the contacts of both the gameshark, and the games with rubbing alcohol and brasso really helped with mine. The pins may look fine, but could still be dirty.

Also, doesn't blowing in cartridges just make things worse? Wont blowing into the cartridge to get out a couple specs of dust out, that probably wont affect the game in the first place, and the water from your breath just make things worse? I heard somewhere that the vapor from your breath causes corrosion on the games pcb.

Also, apart from cheating on games, you could hook it up to a computer with the parallel port, and run the program gscc. From there you can take screenshots, view the ram, take save states, play an nes emulator, etc.
