C-Stick as buttons

This is probably answered somewhere I just couldn't find it. I saw some portables with gamecube C-sticks as C-buttons. How do you do this?

What do the resistors do and where do they solder to? do they go to ground?

This mod would definatly save some space inside your portable but can you hold the c stick in an upward left angle and that would be the equivilant of pressing the left and up c buttons at the same time? Any way I prefer the c pad over the c stick.

Resistors are connected to the middle pins. They are used to make the c-stick more sensitive (I think).

^ Is the symbol for ground. So yes, the resistors go to ground. Here is a good list of symbols used in schematics

No. I'm pretty sure it registers a button press in the direction it is closest to. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

So more resistance=less sensitive? Do you know what resistance sifuf used to make it halfway registers as a button press

It's right there in the image he made - between 6.8k and 8.2k, depending on the stick and your preferences.

Ive got it wired up like the diagram but it always registers as C down ... Any help?
