Would these batterys work

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Could i use these batterys in my next n64 portable?

If theyre rechargeable I wouldn't even bother with the holders. Just hook them up and mount them at different points in your case. Those will give you mucho play time :D. But you'll need a charger.

indeed, but it is somewhat hard to solder to batteries without the worry of them exploding in your face.(at least that's how it works with lithium batteries)

well those casings will take up a lot of space in your casing. i had some of those originally but i decided to stick with the batteryspace standard just because they were smaller and just a lot safer with their PCB and charger and stuff. =/ those batteries would be fine, just big. don't forget a regulator :P
