It's not a guarantee that it'll be gone, but the site expires on the 23rd. Tomorrow I will try to call abbibi and see what he has planned. In the meantime, I am currently making a backup just in case. This includes any accounts given, such as MR.MOD's doomportables.org/~mr_mod. I would, however, advise anyone with a forum on PoD to do a backup as soon as possible, as the content on those cannot be backed up.

If I am not able to call abbibi for some reason, please PM me if you would like to volunteer. I'll let you know if the need arises.

hmm, I'll start taking volunteers now, if anyone is interested. If you have a calling card or cell phone with free long distance, that would be best. Another option would be someone local. I know that he lives in the Washington, DC area.

It's on the same server, but I think it's just the domain name that's expiring. If it is then my site'll be fine. I'd back up just incase though.

This sucks. I hope Abbibi is contacted and informed about it before some Shark swoops in and takes it. If the site does go down, I'm sure we'll find a new place to set up.

Doomportables.tk will be gone, as it goes to the exact same server (unless it is just the name that expires, which I don't know about.)

The mirror still exists, but is a bit outdated. I suppose that could be used instead, but doomportables.org is better than doomportables.freeserverhost.com, like I think it is (gannon did all of that stuff)

I'm not sure if gannon's site will expire, as I had nothing to do with him making that. I believe the situation is similar to doomportables.tk

cheap hosting: I cannot pay to rehost the site, but if someone paid for it, I'll see what can be done about me sending the files. Which reminds me, the backup is complete (though gannon hasn't sent me the MySQL backup last time I checked)

Some shark taking the domain: if it does happen, we still have doomportables.info, which abbibi registered a while ago. He only has the domain, however, and no server to put the content on.

still no volunteers have PMed me, so feel free to if you are interested!

But maybe it's a blessing in disguise. If it does go down then we could make a new site better than ever before. More organized, more people to keep it up, and just all around more cool.....

it might have to be a diffrent site, some kind of Cennar presents Doomportables.
