my PSone screen dead?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

my PSone screen dead?

Post by derka-derka »

I was attempting the psone hack...so got the picture using my svideo and powering with my ps2 powersupply...that worked...then i went to do the lm317 circuit so i can power it thru my PC power supply...however, i screwed up on the wiring...befiore i knew this i just plugged in cos i thoguht i did it correct..and screen didnt turn on...so i grab the meter and test the voltage at the connection point at the psone lcd...read like 3.06v....
then i looked at my circuit again on the lm317...i soldered the output wire to the ADJ pin...then i re did it..and it was correct...i tested it with meter and it read 7.56v...so plug it in...and my screen turns on...but...the picture i get was so dark i can barely see it...had to tilt it...and there was no color....so screen was just black with a small shade of white for the picture im displaying...back light is fun... but when i press the volume/brightness controls, i see the green adjusting bar fine....
is my PCB fried or sumthing?
