Fixed my old gameboy :D but...

So I recently got my triwing screwdriver in the mail, along with a very small philips - exactly what I needed to open my original gameboy. I opened it up, mainly to clean the 3 metal pieces where the batteries connect to, because 1 of them was really corroded from a battery that leaked probably years ago. I used steel wool and rubbed off the green residue, then preceded to clean the rest of the inside of the casing, buttons, etc. and applied some new glue for the plastic covering over the screen. It was filthy; but now it works great, and is very clean on top of it =D

Only problem is, I got a few of those vertical lines going through the screen where the pixels dont show up. I saw a video on youtube that went into pretty good detail about it, and saying that the cause for this is the black rubber pieces ontop of the part that connects the ribbon cables to the bottom of the actual screen - the lines in my case are not that bad. I have like 4 vertical lines in a row on the left side that dont show up, and just 1 on the other side of the screen. Most of the screen is fine, it is playable. But if I do decide to try fixing them, should I just add a little strip of cardboard to apply pressure against that black rubber piece right under the screen?

Try unplugging the screen and plugging it back in. It may not be inserted all the way. That would probably be the cause.
