hey guys im new here so yeah im uber noob. i wanna start a portable project, but idk where to start. what would be a good beginner project for a person that doesnt know much about electronics?

Yeah that book is a bible to us all. Start at a crawling rate and soon before long you will be running with scissors. I wouldn't recommend running with scissors....anyway welcome to the forums.

...and don't forget to check the stickies first! There's a ton of good info in the stickies...and people seem to get annoyed with a question is asked that can be answered by checking the stickies. I don't, but most seem to.

Welcome to the forums! The book is very helpful, although I never used it. If you are balls-to-the-walls, you can spend 3 weeks reading nearly every post on this website. Then read it all again....and again.....and again. Thats what I did.

Or you can turn on a soldering iron and start stabbing motherboards repeatedly until something lights up.
