Okay I'm Back!
I think I found another person that can cut the pieces needed for ALL my projects. We just need to test cutting through 1/2" material with a laser
I think I've given up with bondo... I'm just going to use vinyl and use "plates" in appropriate places like port holes...

Also should I just drop using a keyboard? I don't feel I really need it.

You're making this laptop on commission right? I think it's up to the buyer.
If it's not a commission project, then yeah, drop the keyboard.

Nope... this is my baby (just look at sig v)

I'm also thinking of dropping the USB ports.
You see I was originally planning on this to be a Linux Computer but now with no linux needed I'm thinking why have USB ports? Why have a keyboard?

And I can probably make the case a lot cooler (with the big X on the front)

Also this project never has/will die... it's one of those things I'm taking really slow... because it's expensive

Well... JNR wasn't able to cut through the plastic
I need to find somebody that has a router machine nearby that's run by a computer

So I'm just going to tell JNREngraving to cut the plates for the bottom half of the xBook so that I have a reason to drive all the way up there. (It's almost an hour drive)

Which means that I'll probably start jammin' stuff into the bottom half

How many amps does the Xbox original use? I'm wanting to get a PicoPSU DC-DC converter so that
1)There will be more room
2)I can power the screen and XBOX with just 1 Power Brick essentially

My screen probably uses just under 3 amps since that's what the power brick is labeled at.
Does the xbox use 2.5 amps?

So if I can find a 12V Power Brick Rated at 6 amps I should be good right?

I don't know about a battery or power brick, but that Pico PSU and the ATX converter from sickmods is a well know good ways to ditch the big xbox PSU. I myself, am going to do the same when I get the $$$

I just ordered the Component cable on ebay. mineswell use the original cable instead of soddering straight right?

I called the trophy shop to get their act together

I think I'll take these parts down once a week. So first on the list is that power brick.
Then Pico PSU
Then ATX converter thingy

Well I haven't received the cable yet (probably takes a while coming from Hong Kong)
I just ordered the AC-DC 12V 6amp adaptor

So now I just need the pico psu and the atx adaptor.

What should I get next... not like you guys care

I'm very interested in how this will turn out and have been following this thread closely. I'm no expert on this stuff, but i think you should probably get the pico psu and atx converter, as it is an quite important part.

As i said im a noob, im just giving my two cent.

I would say you should go for the power supply already, once you get that hooked up, I think you could really get this thing going again.

Ahh... but I need the ATX adaptor first! Before the supply...

Uggh It's like a puzzle... or a machine! It doesn't work unless all the pieces are in place...

I'm guessing my A/V cable will arrive around the same time the Power Brick does...
