Go through several pirate adaptors, and you could play anything the NES could play on the N64.

What's next? FDS-GBA SP?

Famicom Disk System. It was a way for Famicom players to get games on programmable floppy disks in the mid 1980's. You would buy a yellow disk and insert it into a machine. It would then write a game on your disk for 40 yen or so. It was scrapped because of reliability and piracy issues.

I just relized that after I posted. Cool, anyways.

Just wondering, where did you get your FDS games. They are hard to find nowdays.

<pause>...FDSMAN...could it be? I have had sleepless nights pondering, what is this acronym...famicom disk system. It makes so much sense now.

Don't bother buying them unless you know the seller, the elastic band in the drive is worn out on most of them nowadays. A lot of the discs are dead too; the irony is that in a decade or so the only way to play FDS-only games will be to find pirate carts of them.

As for connecting to the N64, you'd need a Tristar and a pinout, assuming that the NOAC has compatibility with the bus that the FDS used (as far as I remember nothing else used it, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bother).

I know this is an old post, but I had an idea for F-Man

You will probably need for this, a NES (Not a NOAC, or a Famicom would actually be better)

You will need Audio/Video passthroughs for the NES too, and possibly power, connect the Audio and Video to the N64, so ythere are no need for anything else, controls may be able to be done usign N64, but you may need to supply your own controls (if you don't want to mod your N64)

Then do the FDS mod for NES or use a Famicom, and you have the FDS on N64!

You don't make sense. How would you get audio, video and control to "pass through" an N64? Are you suggesting FDS->Famicom->N64, and if so how would you suggest connecting the Famicom to the N64?

Plus if you've got a Famicom, what would be the point?

Even the tristar just plugged into the a/v port. There's no passthrough :P
