PS1 Portable Battery Pack

Okay, so I'm starting a PS1 Portable project, and I have a rechargeable battery pack already, I'm not sure if it fits the requirements for the PS1 though. All I know about it is that the PS1 receives power at 7.5v DC at 2.0A, giving a total Power of 15W. The battery pack I have runs at 7.2v DC, and charges using 9.0v at 2.22A. If I remember my electronics correctly, this should mean that the battery outputs at 2.22A, which would give a total power of roughly 16W. What I wanted to ask was if this would be sufficient to power the PS1, without causing it any damage, since this is my first time with any real console hardware.

Sorry I can't give more info on the battery, but I got it from ebay to save on cost, so this is all I know.

It's probebly the sony infolithium thype L battery (in ben's book) yes that should work for PSone and screen to run off of.

When looking at the question will a battery run a portable you need to look at 2 things.

1. Voltage. Does it supply the proper voltage for the system? For the Psone and screen , yes a 7.2v will poer it just fine.
2. mAh -- How many amps per hour can the battery supply. A Psone with a Psone screen (unmodded) will pull around 1.3A. So if your battery is 1300mAh then it will power the system/screen for around 1 hour.

All right, thanks guys. I actually realised last night that, by sheer coincidence, that the battery pack (which came from a DVD player, which I will be using for the screen, and yes it can read the output given by the PS1, I tested it) used the same socket as the PS1 power socket, so I connected everything up. It certainly ran the PSone alright, but because I don't have a splitter, I couldn't get it to also power the screen without a little more work put in. I was going to ask if it has enough to power both, but I'm guessing it does, since it ordinarily has to power the DVD player as well anyway, and it seems that has already been answered, so thanks a lot.
