Cart Slot Relocation- Questions
Hello everyone. I'm building a portable system using the Retro Duo console. It is a 16 Bit Nintendo SNES, and an 8 Bit NES in one system. The cart slots on this system are attached with pins (72 pins for NES, 62 for SNES), soldered directly into the board. If I were to cut these pins, relocate the cart slots, and reconnect the pins to wires that I solder back into the board, what type of soldering tool should I use? My current Soldering Gun is too large for these pins, and I might end up soldering two pins together by accident! So, I was hoping I could get some help on how to go about relocating cartridge slots (or anything with pins or wires), and what type of soldering tool to use (is there such thing as a Micro Soldering Iron?
). I appreciate any help I can get.
Re: Cart Slot Relocation- Questions
Never use a soldering gun on these type of electronics. Use a regular soldering iron with some soldering wick or a pump for the desoldering.
