different psone motherboard??? need help

I am making a psonep from ben's book. Its going well, but i cant seem to find the right holes to solder together to jump the power switch. The circuit board traces around the power switch looks different than the one in bens book. i really need info on how the jump this new power switch

do you have a multimeter? if so, just check the switch. :wink:

i got it working. thanks. another question...does anyone know which playstation 1 has the longest cd drive cable? im going to build a cnc playstation from the book and could use some advice for extending the cd drive cable. What kind of wire is thin enough to solder onto the contacts to relocate the cable? links would be nice. :D

The disk drive from an the original PS1 has a long cable, and it might be long enough. Then it can all be a single piece.

The size of the original playstation's cable varies by model. I checked one i got for free from a friend of mine (it was partially broken). Its cable was not very long.
