I went to my local radioshack but they didn't seem to have what I needed, and the datasheet for the pth08000wah seems very specific on what I need. I need a single resistor to get 5v. The datasheet says 353ohms but recommends 348ohms because it's easier to find. It also says it needs to have 1% tolerance (the reason my radioshack didn't have it.) Needs to be rated for 0.05 W and a temperature stability of at least 100 ppm/C. Going to digikey just confused me and I got some little black thing with non of the normal colored bars.

Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Option 1: Get a 5% one, it will work fine. It just might be a little off, 338 ohms for example. There's an equal chance it will be 358 ohms though.
Option 2: Use a 500 ohm variable resistor. Preferably something that turns more than once. Like 5 turns.
Whatever 5v device you are powering will probably be happy with 4.7v. Aim for being too low rather than too high.

It's for a retro duo.
What about the wattage? Lowest my radioshack had was either 1/4 or 1/8 watts. (can't remember). So should it matter that the resistor is rated with a higher wattage or is is a good thing?

Higher is fine. Its a maximum rating.
