best movie editing software?

What would be the best software to use to cut out scenes (Just replace screen with black or put black boxes over stuff you know like they do on TV... or atleast used to) and dub silences over "questionable" words?

Our Church uses the Clear Play player but it drives me insane how unprofessional it cuts stuff out. If I do it I want it to look like nothing was cut out at all!

Well I can't tell you what is the best (never worked with it), but I would say if you have the money, go get Final Cut Pro. It's been touted as the best for several years now.

If a Mac and say $1000 is too steep, Magix is a nice lower price one. I've used some of their products. They're fairly good, and the version of Video Deluxe I used was very good at cutting the video into scenes for removing the un-needed parts. You could find a copy of their software for about $100.

Hey, my mom uses clearplay! I didn't think anyone else had heard of it. All I've had experience with is windows' movie editor on divx movies. it cuts out frames, but as far as I know, I haven't been able to cut out just audio. I'm going to be installing adobe's pack soon, so I could probably say how that is in a while.
