AMAZING DEAL AT FLEA MARKET $5 PS2!!!

Today at the flea market, I was walking around. No good game systems spotted, then I saw the two kids and their father with a PS2/power and video cabels. I asked how much, they replied "It's broken, for parts, $10." I said "I'll give you $5" and the next thing I know -- I have a Disk Read Error PS2 in my hands. So I take it home, take it apart, move the white laser adjustment gear one single click clockwise, and clean the lens with isoprophonal alchol, and there it is -- a working PS2. It can play DVD's and Audio CD's I havn't tried any games because there were no controllers or games included (but for $5, what are you asking for?)

I'd have to say, this is my BEST find ever at any flea market! Even better than my Atari 7800, which I got last week for $10!

That's pretty sweet, sadly there are no flea markets in CT, only yard sales (which are starting to sprout up as the weather improves).

I went to my local flea market a couple times and all I found for sale was unopened Hot Wheels cars for $20 each

yeh I just had a simaller thing involving a broke cube 4 $5 at pawn shop have not figured out what is wrong with the disk drive yet but im not going to use it anyway

I was considering trying adjusting the lazer pot though that is more to increase the compatability with lower quality media for backup copys

though im not going to put a great deal of effort into repairing the drive cause im just going to sell the exra drive off or maybe keep it as a spare I picked up this cube for my current project witch dose not make use of the disk drive

I bought a cheap broken gamecube and adjusting the laser pot fixed it.

i know there are flea markets here some place, i just cant find them....

living in a valley with a lot of trailer trash (not the people just all the junk the people own) theres bound to be some really good deals

hey adjusting the lazer pot did the trick now I have a $5 cheap fully working cube just like vb sept less work on my part thanks guys though im still not going to use the drive anyway so I got a spare

Guide I used, free, easy (On G4!) This one's for older (albeit ones with ten screws on case) PlayStation 2's. Mine had only eight on the case, but that was the only thing different between his and mine. Enjoy!

BTW -- I got parental controls diabled, seems that the parents didn't want their kids watching anything over the "G" raiting. Now I can watch Monk, YEAH!
