Hey, so i want to build my own 360 laptop like ben's but, his part 3 guide on engadget's is not detailed enough. It dosent say were to solder the rca jacks and the vga cable, please help me.

are you saying you want to solder directly to the motherboard? if so, it really is easier to buy a xbox 360 DVI/VGA adapter and strip it down so it won't take up as much room. Say specifically what you're trying to do, because I don't think we understand your problem. It should be easy.

depends on whether you have sn HDMI port and if you want a digital signal capable of 1080p output. Since it's most likely a 720p monitor and only some monitors have DVI, I would say the easiest is to get an xbox 360 to VGA adaptor.



you can get them on eBay for $7-8 and the shipping free. cut off all the extra plastic and rubber to make it smaller for your case. You'll want to cut the wires down and solder them back together, as well. The cable will be too long. it's best to keep the connectors because you have less pinout soldering to do and you're able to plug and unplug the wires as needed.

yer my 360 has an hdmi, would it be better using the hdmi port to vga? or the av adapter port to vga? which is easier?

if you use an HDMI adapter, then you still need a second cable for sound. It's all in one with the one in the picture, plus you wouldn't see the difference with HDMI unless you had a 1080p monitor. You asked which was easier and faster. that's the one in the picture.
