how to power n64 with charger?

I don't know of a charger that supplies enough current to power the n64, so if I made a portable, I wouldn't be able to play it without using the batteries. How do y'all do it?

I believe the N64 only draws about 1.5 amps with the expansion pack. There are plenty of chargers/power supplies that can handle this amperage. Use a switch to change between battery and wall power. Pretty simple.

batteryspace has a 1.2A charger, but that's not enough...

Well I'm using a 4000mAh li-ion battery (Coby BP-420). And it comes with a 2.2A charger which should be more than adequate. The best thing to do is search around and find something that works. BTW I wouldn't recommend batteryspace for your power needs. It's more expensive and more work. Just buy a laptop or portable dvd battery that comes with a charger. Mine cost $20 with charger, much better than batteryspace ($60 battery, $20 charger, $5 pcb)*. Happy googling.

Actually, that Coby BP-420 sounds ideal for the 2.2A charger...

I picked mine up on Amazon for $20. But unfortunately it looks as though they're fetching a bit of a higher price now. But still extremely cheap for the capacity.

I says that it is 2.2amps on the charger itself. It's not in the manual or product description however.

im going to be using a 7.2 volt sony info lithium L battery for my portable. I think the psone charger outputs 7.2 volts. Would that work to power the system off of a wall adapter?

it depends on how many Amps the charger is capable of supplying at that voltage
