YouTube help?

Post by Super Cameraman »

I have no idea where to ask this, but I figured that this forum has to have someone who can help...

So, I'm Super Cameraman. Or I was... It's a dumb name and I've grown up since I came up with it. I have a new email address and I've stopped marking my videos with "Super Cameraman" but YouTube is making this transition away from my old "name" and to my actual name hard.

I have a YouTube channel by the name of "Super Cameraman" that has a lot of videos that I've made since early 2006. I've grown up a lot since then, and I'm being to accept the fact that a lot of these videos are terrible and the channel name is immature and annoying to look at. I want to start over, but there are a few videos that have a good amount of views that I'm not embarrassed by.

Is there any way to transfer videos from one YouTube channel to another, without having to reupload anything and without losing view counts, comments, and etc? I'd like to put together a sort of YouTube portfolio of only my best work, with a channel name I can tell people without explaining to them that I was in elementary school when I came up with it.

Can anyone help? Obviously, I can reupload what I need on to my new channel, but then, as I said, I'd lose my view counts, and I have some videos in the 100,000 range or higher.

Thanks!
Max

(PS, funny story... Let's say that when I came up with "Super Cameraman" I thought camera was spelled "camra" so my screenname was spelled like that for a while. Just saying... Help me! I'm almost in college.)
If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

You could possibly do this. The 2 can be followed in any order.
1. Remove the videos that you feel are embarrassing via your My Video's Page. (They can be removed via the click of a button, real simple)
2. Not sure exactly how to go about this but petition either a name change or get in contact with a admin of sorts. (youtube employee or tech rep)

That way you can avoid losing your view counts on your vids that you do like.

If all else fails just keep that account running, delete the bad videos, and make a new account and make annotations on your old account videos that link users to your new account.
