Couple international questions about n64

I have two questions that I need help with.

1. Will an american n64 (EX: starlight 64) be able to play japanese n64 games with the protective pins removed?

2. are adapters common to charge my starlight 64 in europe. (240v down to 120v)?

It might, PAL-j and NTSC-j may do two things
1) play in Black an white or serious video problems
2) Not play at all

Doesn't your starlight 64 have a regular 12V charging jack? or do the batteries need a smart-charger? In any case, you might be able to grab a travelers adapter than takes 220 down to 110.
You can find them on E-bay I think.

most new smart charges accept 100=240v 50/60hz double check before you spend at least $40 on the converter
