I think it should all be subjective. If you THINK your portable looks the smallest, then it is.

Also hail, you're just saying that cause the Darth 64 was awesome.

edit: and I'm sorry, thewise1. I was originally going to tell you that your portable looked great and congratulations on completing it. it looks great.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I have a followup to testing the starlight 64. I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that I did 2 99 stock tests in a row and it reached a maximum heat and it was only slightly warm. So it will not overheat.

Now for the bad news. :(

I had to remove the internal memory pak because it was unstable because the connector to the battery kept coming loose and wouldn't stay saved. You can still save with an external one though.
Also the low led did not work. But I'm not going to just leave a hole there. So now the red dot is just for show.
And now the worst one of the expansion pak chips has failed but I'm tired of working on it so it doesn't have an expansion pak anymore.

So now 3 setbacks have occurred but I don't plan to fix them. I have already declared the system finished so with those three things lost and testing complete it's now complete.

So it may go up for sale soon.

Since everything is solid and tested and ready to sell I've put it up on the trading post. Thank you guys for all the help with building it!

Yes it is but its not too bad, the d pad that comes with the 3rd party controllers suck and I didn't have an extra one on me.

Guess what everyone, it still hasn't sold yet so I was playing zelda on it, then I moved my thumb over the right speaker and guess what, the left speaker wasn't working, I put in my headphones and still nothing. So that was the last straw.

I opened up the system and am now in the process of fixing everything including the memory pak. The audio was an easy fix, that was just a loose wire. I've also fixed the expansion pak, I used flux and sanding but I still can't solder directly to the battery, so I just got a flat piece of copper and a really tight rubber band around it. Before it was just losing connection because it was just a wire and tape, but it should work perfectly now. I looked at the low led and I don't think I can fix that without a new zenar diode.

Unfortunately the system won't boot right now because I'm working on the expansion paks, hopefully I can get it fixed.

Other then that everything is back to working order, except I haven't tested the low led.

On a side note my furnace broke down so it's now 40 degrees in my room. :D

Dude, do some massive overclocking. I have heard of people getting massive overclocks by running their computers in sub zero weather.

Now you have an incentive to work, you can use your soldering iron to warm your hands. 8)

I was simply talking about what I have heard of on some overclocking forums, I am not that dumb. ;)

K everything's fixed now, the expansion pak works and the memory pak, I also improved the L button so it feels more like a button.

But the only thing that doesn't work is the low led.

I did try some wiring because before I didn't even get a signal out of it last time, but most likely it doesn't work. At least you can still tell when the battery is low by the screen flickering.

So out of the whole portable the only thing that didn't work was the low led. That's the last time I build something without testing it first.
