Xbox 360 portable

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Xbox 360 portable

Post by QuickSkope »

Alright, Ordered the new Xbox, and some of the parts, finding a CNC machine. Now im looking for a monitor, anything you guys wanna recommend, quality is a concern since im gonna make it look real profesional. I have money, make enough a month (a lot more than most 14 year olds) have done a few mod job (firmware and burntgames). My dad's best friend has done more crap than you could think of (built his own PVR out of NOTHING. Anyway, a bit of help finding a decent screen would be much ablidged (please don't give me some stuff about "L00K ON DA EBAYZ FOR TAH SCREEN!" ive looked at multiple places, no luck, a link would be nice.

P.S Sorry to sound retarded, but during modding, you are gonna need to rewire stuff (like the Wireless adapter and other in the engadgets article) and it says to test the connections on the back of the mobo with a Voltmeter, how am I supposed to do that. According to what we have done in our Science class, im guessing, that you would turn it on, and then you would attach the voltmeter to the pin on the mini USB, then check the ones on the back. Also how do I determine the ground wire (sounds stupid, but my dad's not home, don't have my dad's friends contact).

If I had some help to give I would.

Monitor. Hmmm . Try to find the same one Ben used. Search on Ebay for it. That is the typical response because that is about the only place to find older smaller monitors like the one Ben uses.

The voltmeter will work in a few different ways.

1. To find where a connection goes. Turn the voltmeter to the continuity setting. Place one lead on the line you are looking to trace. Place the other on the spots where you think the line goes. Keep testing spots till you hear a beep. You just found out where the line goes.

2. Set the voltmeter to volts. Put the black lead on the ground (usually very easy to find a ground. It will be the large green areas on the board and/or the spots where all the connectors metal shielding is attached to the board). Place the red lead on the spots you are checking. Read the meter and it will tell you the voltages you will need.

And like I said "Good luck". That seemed like the best advice other than "your sig is to big".

P.S. I am in no way , shape, or form a "Senior Member" :)

Well, it helps to not act like you're entitled when asking for help.

It's alright, everyone at age 14 has been drunk. Some of them even had sex. (that's just bad thought)
