Okay, so I just finished my portable today, I was amazingly happy, I got everything shoved in the case and it worked GREAT.
I opened it back up, and put a headphone jack in it. It wouldnt switch the main audio off, so I just left it there, saying I would mess with it tomorrow.
I was taking a video of it, when all of a sudden the game would freeze. (keep in mind at this time the batteries are almost dead)
Then after a few times of that, the game wouldnt boot and the screen would be completely Red.
So now, I went and took the headphone jack out, and put it all back together. The game boots but the L and R buttons Randomly Bridge(Like I would be pressing them). and the Volume+Brightness Buttons will not work.
Keep in mind the L and R buttons do still work when pressed, but Like I said they will randomly Bridge during Play.

Re: Problem with my Portable. HELP
If the buttons randomly press while you're moving it then it's most likely a short somewhere. And if you're using on line for ground on the volume buttons then it might have come loose. Something that might help is disconnecting everything then reattaching and putting tape on all the connections. And also look for any loose metal pieces in there.
Brand new switches don't just all go bad at the same time. If any of them are sharing a ground wire, maybe to the controller, or the screen, or maybe the triggers are sharing ground with the volume buttons. The best thing is to check all the places where components are sharing ground.

Re: Problem with my Portable. HELP
either a short or the buttons have some tension somewhere making it connect(well, it happens to me)and if you've seen the inside of a pushbutton switch, you know it's possible.
Re: Problem with my Portable. HELP
Well it is probably not a BIG problem. Like thewise1 said, its probably a ground issue or a short/broken connection. Be happy that it is not something worse
It will work out man, don't worry! You've done the hard part already

Re: Problem with my Portable. HELP
No it was a major problem.
I know of nothing that was wrong(I'm not saying that in any bragging way, i really was sure everything was wired correctly)
But for some reason or another my PTH08080WAZ blew.
I ordered a new one and everything worked again but it blew a second time! and I DONT KNOW WHY!
I went ahead and ordered a PTH08000WAZ instead..I hope that fixes it..
EDIT: I might need a new PSone screen mobo as well...

Re: Problem with my Portable. HELP
The only thing I can think of is if you got some extra momentary switches laying around, solder the volume/brightness/L/R buttons to it and test it out that way and if your still getting the same problem it might be a problem with the circuitry or maybe extra solder is bridging the gap.
