Wireless???
I had this posted in a different thread but I had some more Ideas.
I had an idea that would be frickin awesome if it would work but I don't have my hopes too high. I thought about making it have wireless lan connection to other ones. I could build them as just recievers. My thinking would be to not send the whole game to the others but rather just the screen data. The recievers could then send back the data coming out of the controller. Will some tell me if this has any chance of working.
I was thinking a bout the part about sending the controller data back to the original one. I figure I can use the same setup as a wavebird. For the A/V data I have no Idea of how to get that to work.

The controller data would be easy, however to incorperate the AV would be difficult, as you would have to have 5 different channels set up on the system, for each controller, audio/video. The video however, gets quite more complex. I remember about 10 years ago, I had these 2 little boxes, and you would put the transmitter on the TV with cable, and the receiver on the TV that didn't, so then both TVs would see and hear the same thing. If you could find something similar to that, then you could make 3 copies of the receiver, and your set.

I had the same thoughts, however I ran into the same stumbling block. Nos pretty much hit it on the head, on how I would approach it. Just get one of those wireless audio/video signal transmitters and stick it in the "client" controllers (host would have the machine, clients would be strictly screens, controllers, and battery power). I don't know how big the transmitters would be, or how much range you could get on them, so it'd be iffy at best... If I had the money and the time to test it out, I'd deffinetly take that route before proceeding.

LOL. I was thinking about that earlier! Really, that would be possible. My knowledge of TV and screen circuitry isn't great, but I believe that the screen's size is set inside a chip, in which the math to change the picture to fit the screen is done. If you could set it up like a CRT monitor with controls to adjust picture size and posistion, then use pots to adjst the screen when you needed to.

But then again there's Super Smash Bro's and numerous other games that require view of the whole screen... I've also given it a lot of though, and it's just not really all that probable... Unless you found a screen that could save screen size settings and allow you to switch between them easily... or something...
But even then, it's going to take whoever wants to accomplish that a LOT of time and effort to even get it figured out, and then to build it and get it to work...
Sounds fun in theory, but I just don't think the reward would pay off when it was done. Just personal opinion though, I'm not stopping anyone from trying on their own.

That might actually be useful in a multi-purpose kinda way. It'd be a great alternative to sticking audio/video cables on your portable to hook up to a TV, because all you'd have to do is turn on the TV and flip to the right channel, and presto...
However, since I don't know exactly how it works, it'd be funny if it transmitted to like, a neighbors television or something... "LESTER, WHAT'S THIS CRAP THEY'RE PLAYING ON OPB?!"
But that might be pretty cool if you had basically, an N64 portable, and 3 player controllers, all which are just wireless controllers and screens, with audio/video receivers in them...
Anyone have $50 and feel like trying it out?
