Help for total Beginner, making N64 portable

Hey there.
I just stepped into this nice idea of making my N64 portable. But for my Purposes it's enough when it is just portable, not a fully handheld.
So what I mean, could you try to explain me what's the easiest way of making it portable.

I thought about just manage the N64 to run on Battery power and then connect to mobile DVD player or so. Can anyone tell me how to do it (or if it is possible) ?
