SNes with an analog stick

Post by Onikirimari »

Can someone help me please? My mom had a stroke years ago and she loves gaming on the Snes, but she can't use the d-pad very well anymore. I'm trying to find a way to mod an Snes d-pad with an analog stick. Does, anyone know how? It doesn't need to be a complete swap, even an analog stick sliding over the d-pad sensors would help. I've got an old PS2 controller and was wonding if I could use it's analog stick. Would someone know how to do this?

For an easy mod just take the top off the Analog stick (it pops off if you take it apart) and glue it to the top of the D-pad. I will most likely be allot easy for her to control. I would use Hotglue first to see if it works and if approved I would epoxy the analog top on. The cap looks like this.

the thing used on the nintendo superboy. It's like an analog stick but functions as a dpad.

On mouser.com. I would try the easy mod and see if that works. If not you will have to do some soldering to get that multi tact in.
