hacking lcd monitors

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

well, it really depends what you mean by "hacking". that could be anything. be more specific.

well you know how ben "hacks" the westinghouse monitor for the xbox 360 portable and the gateway monitor. i mean like that. cutting the circuit board and wiring it to the xbox's psu. i'm trying to learn how he knows where to cut it and specifically what part of the board goes to the psu and what stays attached to the monitor and how to connect everything to the psu.

even though ben has a guide for the westinghouse monitor in the engadget how to make an xbox 360 laptop, i still wouldn't know what to do for a different monitor.

i'm not sure how to describe it. sorry if i am not making sense

I appreciate all the help i can get

You DO have a thread specifically about that.

And there is no set guide on "HOW TO HACK ALL MONITORS", they're all different, and he knows what to do by the labels on the board and knowledge of general electronics.

ok i see. now you said that "you do have a thread about that" is that referring to the gateway monitor? i've been trying to find out where he cuts the gateway monitor and where he wires it. I know he had a ps3 laptop guide and he uses that monitor, but i only was able to find part 1 from that and the monitor i am assuming would be in part 2 or 3
