Missing topics?

Post by Mario »

Several months ago I posted a topic asking how to program N64 games. After being flamed, I actually got some intelligent replies. :P I posted it in the programming section (what is now the computer forum).

Well, now I'm looking for it again, and it seems to be missing. I went to the computer forum and looked at all the topics and it isn't there. I looked at all my posts and nothing is there, even though I posted in that topic several times. A search reveals nothing.

What is wrong here? Did we lose some information in a recent upgrade or something? :?

I can make some stupid comments again :)

I can actually remember this topic... (sorry, I think I was one of those who thought it would be to hard, but i have more faith in you now :lol: )
And its weird, its not in my list with posts either.

So, have you made a N64 game, or planned to start on it now?

We found the thread, and it's been moved back to the N64 forum. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Here, http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=27475" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks, Sparkfist. What happened here; how did you find the thread?

Or is there a hidden "dumpster" forum only mods can see that you put old threads in?

is this phpbb?

I think i know how it comes the topics aren't put to the original author, if you move a thread no problem, but if you move a topic, you need to push the button to recalculate userposts (i can check out where to find this more preciesly IF this is phpbb)

You got it. We used to just delete them outright, but then when we'd have problems with some people, it'd be hard to keep track of how many times they'd do something, what exactly was said, etc.

I think it's more fair in the long run to do it this way, to be honest... if you're going to be banned for something, including previous offenses, it's only fair that the original "evidence" is available if needed. It started with this one member that'd always make new sites (often having little or nothing to do with this stuff) and would ALWAYS make a post advertising it. This happened every month, about. Not only that, but he'd also make new accounts. If we deleted the post outright, we'd lose an IP address posted from to be able to know if it's the same person.

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

For some reason, when I tried to move the thread, I picked the dumpster forum instead of the Tech Q&A forum :facepalm:
