Battery question...

So, my battery is 4000mAh currently and is made up of 4 1000mAh li-ion cells. It has a pcb protection circuit and a led fuel gauge. I assume that this would not work, but would it be possible to increase the mAh capacity by adding more cells while keeping the same protection pcb and have a properly working fuel gauge??

Yes you can. All you have to do is wire the cells (same kind) in parallel. This will add more amperage and you can still use all of your current battery equipment with it.

Yea you can use the current gauge/pcb/batteries your using now. If you were to wire it up in series you might have to change something depending on how much voltage your adding, but if you just want to increase the amperage thats fine.
