Well you will also need :

Case
Paint
Abs cement
Plastic filler epoxy
Solder
soldering iron
de-solder iron or braid or pump
capacitor and resistor for the 3.3v converter
etc,etc
Lot's of patience and extra money

For the 3.3v converter :

Yes, you can get the 3.3v regulator for free.
I have no idea what you're asking about the cap and resistor.
And you need a desoldering iron for... desoldering stuff obviously; things like the power button, AV jack, power jack...etc...

If you are new to soldering you will certainly need to de-solder some joints to fix mistakes. Most people would recommend de-soldering braid (can be found at radioshack). Here is the link to 3.3v converters:

Either the pth08080waz, pth08080was, or pth08080wah will work. Most people use the WAZ. Just register and request a free sample. The capacitor is 100uF and the resistor is 2.2k ohms; both can be found at radioshack. Here is a link to the pth08080 wiring diagram:

Good luck. :)

then you need to buy one from Mouser or digikey.(other ones too, but this is worldwide shipping for all 08080's, not just one of them)(I thought the wah was used most)

waz is just the one I've seen referenced most. I ordered all three so I could decide for myself. I believe the only difference is the type of pin, correct???
