portable making...so much work?

Post by zake »

ive been looking around at portable relating things for a long time, reading up, looking for sellers...and when i opened my ps2 to try this, i thought "....theres not as many wires as shown in WIP videos on youtube, or pictures" i also noticed, theres a lot of sauldering required, a small screen, etc. so i have a few questions :P

1: whats the lowest price i can possibly get for a small screen?
2: cant i just snip the power cord for my ps2, then attach it to a battery holder, and let it run off the batteries?
3: how do you get the video onto the screen without 3 color plugs? i meen like, where to saulder depending on what screen you use?

im sorry if any of this is very vague...please help?

1. A good 3.5" screen can be about $30
2. you can do this with anything
3. you really just have to solder the video, left, and right signals. And then ground.

Basically negative.

Like negative on a battery

It gives the electricity a place to go. It's common among everything. Hence common ground, you'll here that a lot on these forums, we don't really say negative.

ground = negative on a battery

That's the simplest way to describe it.

Yeah, the power goes through the positive screen terminal, and comes out the ground and goes back into the battery as used electricity.

You will need to solder if you want it to look anything near decent.

Not to be a grammar-nazi, but its solder, not saulder. :P That will take you a long way in a place like this. Good grammar, nice attitude, and asking intelligent questions.
